Well, I'm obviously not a pro at this blogging thing...but give me some time and maybe I'll catch up. Since my last post, I have finished the stools that my good friend Robin ordered and I don't even think I have taken any pictures, luckily she hasn't picked them up yet, so I'll try to get pics posted. They did turn out really nice though. I got down and dirty and finally fixed some old chairs into planters. They are super distressed and have great little accents on them. I got together the chairs, flag holders and a few other items and took them to the New Bern Farmer's Market last Sat. Angie shared the space with me and she took some of her gorgeous wreaths. We had a beautiful day, met lots of people, seen lots of strange things and I sold a few items. The bad thing about the set up was that no one could drive thru the Farmer's Market so no one was buying large items. Who would want to carry a big item around while they're looking at the other vendors stuff? Oh well, that's how it goes! At least we got some exposure.
This past Sat. we (Angie, Phyllis and I) took some of our items for sale to the Seahorse in Morehead City. It is a really nice consignment shop and we are renting space together. I think it is going to enhance our exposure. We each have exclusive items that work well together. Angie does the beautiful wreath arrangements and she made some wonderful wooden frames that are funky but practical. Phyllis has a special eye for vintage items that people are looking for, like pitchers, pictures, vases, etc. And then I have mostly handpainted items available.
We keep talking about how can we do something in Vanceboro, and I believe one day we will be able to set up a space to sell our wares. I will let you know when that happens.
Until then, hope everyone is blessed beyond measure this week.
